Customise
The first thing that most people like to do is customise Windows 7 to there own liking.
Right click on desktop but not on any icons. left click on Personalize
Left Click on Desktop Background
Select a picture from the Sample Pictures or Left Click Browse, Left Click Libraries, Left Click on Pictures
Left click on My Pictures
Click ok
Left click the picture you like (a blue tick appears in the corner)
Click Save changes
Desktop Shortcuts
The next thing is to tidy the desktop and not to have to many shortcuts
At the bottom of the page is the Task Bar
Move the mouse over the empty part and Right Click
Move the mouse over Lock the taskbar (should have a tick next to it)
Left click on Lock the taskbar, if you Right Click in the Task bar the tick has gone.
Left Click and hold down button to drag around Desktop
Right Click to Delete Shortcut
When you have it as you require
Remember to Right Click in Task bar
Left Click on Lock the Task bar
Cleaning
On Windows 7 it is quite easy to clean your computer, this process can clean out most of the things take up storage space for example internet history.
Do the following to clean out your computer i would say every 2 to 3 weeks, depending how much you use your computer.
Left Click on the Windows Explorer tab in the Task bar
From the panel on the left click on Computer
Left click so that ( C;) is highlighted
Right click and move mouse over properties and Left Click
Right click on Disk Cleanup
This prcess may take a little time depending on when it was cleaned last and the size of the hard drive.
Using the arrows check that the boxes you wanted to clean are ticked
Click Ok when done
Click Delete Files when asked
Adding New Users
Left click on winows symbol in left corner
Left click on control panel
Left click on User Accounts and Family Safety (Add or remove user account)
Left click on Create a new account
Type the name of the new user in the box
Now mark Standard user or Administrator
Click on Create Account
Updates
These are very important and should be done when the computer asks
Do the following to do the updates.
Make sure you are connected to the internet before you start:
Left click on the Windows Logo
Left Click on All Programs
Left Click on Windows Update
